ゝR. F. Jackaby is a detective, investigator really, but the twist is,he unlike our many others, he investigates 'special' cases. ゝFor example, lets say there was a murder. Yeah I know there's the police to catch the murderer, but what if the murderer is not even a human, what if it's, say a troll? That's where our dear Jackaby comes in with his pockets jingling with vials and god knows what. ゝWe get to see the story through the eyes of Miss Abigail Rook, the young woman who left her near perfect life in England in search of adventure, the taste of which she gets as she starts working with Jackaby as his Assistant. ゝ But apparently Monster hunting is not as simple as it seems, add to the mixture the combination of her weird employer (Mr Jackaby), his ex assistant (who is now a Duck!?!), a very pretty ghost with whom they are living with (Jenny) and a young handsome Junior Detective of the New Fiddleham police force who could be a little more than what he seems. ^ Who would wanna miss out on a story like that? ^ . Personal overview of the book …ᐷ ☬ I would say this book was like the paranormal version of Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed the little facts about the supernatural beings given with the story plus the author's own outlook on the Paranormal. I really liked the character of Abigail Rook, she has been portrayed beautifully by the author with her ability to look for things others tend to ignore. I loved the character development but sometimes the time seemed to be going too slow you know, like, so many things happening together. And even though the story was paranormal, which meant it was technically beyond logic, I was still able to figure out who the villain was. Just around the first time it came in, it was like BAM that's it! But all in all, it's a pretty nice read.☬ .
