This might be one of the most difficult questions ever for a book lover to answer. Do you prefer bookstores or libraries?
.
Me? I really don't think I am ready to answer this yet. I mean both of them have their ever lovely qualities, don't they? Like, one's your family and the other your career, now how are you supposed to choose between that???
.
✯ What's your kind of heaven? I am pretty sure mine would look like this ~
✯ Like, I have heard so many controversies over bookstores and libraries and although I have seen bookstores win in most cases, let's be honest, we really can't choose between these two. Let's do a fun thing. Let's do a little comparison~
㉨ Bookstores •••
∆ You get to buy books which you can keep adorned on your shelves forever.
∆ You get different editions and get to choose from various beautiful covers.
∆ The books have that lovely 'new book' smell which we all love ♡
∆ Plus, you get to support so many small businesses.
㉨ Libraries •••
∆ Even though you can't keep them forever, you get to read different books for FREE.
∆ I know you don't get different editions to read, but you get to read books which are passed down from readers to readers and sometimes you get lucky and stumble across little notes left in the margins or the back pages :)
∆ They have that musty 'old book' smell.

✯ Alright, it might seem I am being partial towards the library but it's not. I actually like bookstores a bit more too, but then again, that's because you can actually buy those books, and I don't specially believe in borrowing them from someone else *libraries are a total exception though, I don't feel it's considered borrowing if it's from a library. It's like owning a book for a very little time. You should always treat library books with the same care and affection as your own books.*
.
Do you borrow books from others? I try not to. But there's a very valid point behind that I promise. I personally am so attached to my books that it really pains me to part with them. Even the thought of any harm or damage coming towards them scares me. And as it is said,
"Treat others how you want to be treated."
I feel it must be the same way for others as well. But that also means, I usually don't let others borrow my books as well. Yeah I know, I can be selfish that way.
.
By the way, I came across this really interesting fact a few days ago. It went like,
"In Indian schools we don't get our phones taken away for texting. We get our novels taken away for reading."
True fact though, I have first hand experience. I know what you are thinking. My novel would obviously be taken away if I read it during the class but sometimes I wonder how cool it would be if we really got points for reading what we like.
Anyway, I won't bore you anymore.
✯ But really, I can live among books. It would be a pretty awesome life. (*˘︶˘*).。*♡
.
Happy Reading~~~
Toodles.
